Lovedale Farm is focused around an 18-hole championship golf course, described by course designer Darius Oliver as an authentic old-school inland British layout.
"The first time I came here it was dry and it was warm and there was water in the creeks … you had to get out on foot and walk to feel the undulations and the contours beneath your feet. As a design traditionalist, it is my goal to draw out the rugged natural beauty of the Hunter Valley landscape. We get to celebrate the best parts of this property though golf."

Darius Oliver is famous for scenic course designs at The Hills in Otago, New Zealand, and Cape Wickham on King Island, Tasmania, which has been rated Australia's number one public golf course.
Of the layout at Lovedale Farm, he says: “There are some beautiful rural outlooks, not just across Black Creek but internally as well. This is actually a very special property.”
